I think people didn't understand yesterday's post. It was supposed to come across as humorous. As if...look what these idiots in Philadelphia are doing/saying.
I know it is hard to have a sense of humor about the parking situation in Arlington Village. Noone is happy. It has taken people 3 times the normal time to commute to their jobs all week and then when they get home their spot is taken or some AV staffer has moved their chair/table/what have you.
Who wouldn't or shouldn't be angry about that scenario?
All I can say is that I hope this weekend brings lots of sun and plenty of shovelers. Perhaps the staff, AV residents and mother nature can come together to get rid of this snow?

Oh, stop taking yourself and your blog so seriously. I started to read the article but it's boring and badly written. What comments were you expecting--haha, that's really funny! Hee hee.
Hoooray ! Village made it to Barton Street and cleaned the walks.
There have been several complainers on the blog. Seems the snow brings out the worse in people. Look, the storm sucked. The AV staff worked very hard to have our village cleared. Was it perfect? Was anything? 14th street into the city went down to one lane and it took me 45 minutes to get to work.
All I can say to the saff is thank you. It annoys me to see people being so petty about things. Get over yourself.
In terms of reserving spaces, the snow is almost gone. This won't even be an issue come spring.
I agree. I'm going to be going to the Carribean in a few days, but until then, I politely asked Parks & Rec if I could park at Walter Reed Center, and they said, no, but for now, other people are doing it. Close enough for me for now.
Here: something actually important:
From the Metro section in the Washington Post on Sunday:
Arlington County Board unanimously voted to propose a tax rate of 96.5 cents per $100 of a property's assessed value, a 10.3% increase over the current rate of 87.5 cents.
Also proposed: higher fees for driver's licenses, sewer and sanitary services, etc.
Can people PLEASE remove their lawn furniture from the parking spots now? Enough melting has taken place.
I agree with AV Resident. I put away my marker and I think its time everyone does as well.
