Board Member Fired?

I didn't know you could fire a volunteer but I guess that is the case. I received an e-mail last night that one of the Board Members was thrown off the Board by certified mail. I don't have all the details but perhaps if you see a Board Member tonight at the Budget Town Hall meeting you can ask them.

I'm assuming that they will fill the position temporarily until the election? Does anyone know how that process will work? Can residents ask to fill that position?

Any information on how this will work out will be fantastic!

I saw this noted in the Crier. It said that he missed 3 meetings and thus the Board deemed that was his resignation. Did they even call him to see what was going on?

I am ready to jump in that seat.

How do they fill the seat?

Carmen lifts the needle off a spinning record, and when you hear the music stop you try to sit down.

It's the democratic way.

Everybody knows that, silly

That's so ridiculous. Did the board even inquire with the member prior to booting them off? Were they given notice?? It seems undemocratic given we voted tihs person on and they were removed without any notice or public comment.

What if there was some sort of family or work issue? I can't believe there wasn't any contact or notice. Nice...maybe we need to vote some of the other members off. That's the great thing about elections - we can get rid of some of these obviously out of touch board members.

Maybe he tried to advocate for some change from the status quo. Got fed up and just said hasta la bye bye.

Nice! This is how "they" treat volunteers?! Every month in the Crier they are asking for residents to volunteer their time and this is how they treat them....who would volunteer if this is the way they are going to be treated.

Not only that the Crier wasn't very imformative, once again. Its really outdated. This blog has been a great resource for info - I travel a lot so I like to go to it to see what's going on.

I think the Board wants volunteers that do what they say. If you have your own ideas than don't apply.
