If you aren't on the AV Blast...you should know that there will be a Budget Meeting tomorrow night!!! It's really too bad that the Crier hasn't come out yet...maybe it will be under your door this afternoon? I fear that the word hasn't gotten out about the meeting and that's the way Arlington Village likes it.
You would think such an important meeting would at least qualify for flyers or something. You can barely see it listed on the sandwich boards.
Perhaps they will talk about the new management companies they are looking at; how much are we going to budget for 13th Road renovations; or how much money do we spend on employee overtime? Please post what questions you'd like to see answered.
As sent out by Arlington Village:
Please join the Treasurer and the Assets Committee for an informal presentation and Q&A session on the draft 2009 budget, Scheduled for Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at 7:30 pm in the Arlington Village Meeting Room.

The presentation announcement is on the sandwich boards that litter the neighborhood? I thought those signs were reserved for 1/2 price sale advertising or clever bible verses.
Wow.
See now.. that first sentence in the first para. is negative. Maybe that's why some think the blog is just that.
sorry, meant to say last sentence in first paragraph. oops
Down with Jan. Up with the swing.
Ding Dong! The Witch is dead. Which old Witch? The Wicked Witch!
They just don't write them like that any more.
Is there a draft budget for us to review? An informed electorate is always best.
Can I find it online anywhere? Would make more sense if we could look at material beforehand.
How can a bible verse be negative?
To the Blog Administrator
Just wanted to thank you for bring the arlington village website up-to-date!
It's nice to get the latest version of the Crier and other forms, like the updated Rules going into effect on 10/1/08
Keep up the goog work
I believe there is a draft budget...but you would have to request it from the office. As for being negative...I don't appreciate the fact that information is kept from residents and I'm going to keep writing about it. I think a budget town hall meeting should be as publicized as possible in as many ways as the Village can do so. A perfect example of keeping AV problems hush hush is the fact that there are over 40 doors that need to replaced in the Village b/c the contractors AV used incorrectly installed them. There are residents that have been asking for a fix for over a year. I think that is negative.
