This blog is dedicated to expressing Arlington Village residents' feelings about our community. It is a blog for the people and by the people. Please give updates on your committee meetings, problems with the community, security issues and of course the great reasons to live in "the village".

The "free" space meeting was yesterday (Tues) at 7pm.
So what happened?
Nobody knows what happened at the meeting? Maybe we should make it a lounge for the AV staff?
The individual leading the meeting mistakenly began a half hour earlier than listed in the Crier, and then shortly before the appointed time (7:30)left with the lone attendee to look at the room. Others showed up but they had gone on . . .
There should be feedback on the room down the road.
update:
The room is not very large but was thought of being turned into another bike room since the one we have is not usable. Maybe also move 10 storage units that get soaked every rain storm. The wet storage could be turned into large object storage This would get kayaks and canoes out of underneath decks. The room has to be cleaned and non-load bearing walls have to be taken out. How is that for a rap?
why is the current bike room not usable?
How can you start a meeting of one early? Then take off and not let the people that were interested see the room? Maybe they should do a second meeting?
On the calendar on the back of The Village Crier on March 24th, "Town Hall Meeting 7 PM RE: Basement". There just also happens to be a misprint inside the Crier stating 7:30 PM. We thought waiting until 7:25 was long enough, not realizing there was a misprint at the time.
As for the bike room. Have you tried to lock a bike in the bike room? You cannot find a spot on the racks, they are full. There are many dusty bikes with flat tires. Maybe a log should be made and bikes gone through with owner's names. We could donate bikes without owners to keep condo fees down. When I bought, the previous owner could not give me the key because her friend had a bike in the room. She kept the key. When I had my bike in the bike room, I had to lock it and lean it against the wall. Please check out the bike room.
The room is the size of a footprint of a unit. It is not that big.
I doubt anything will happen until another meeting occurs.
I've been in the bike room. I'm all for a second one. There's way too many bikes for just one room.
