The Crier - It's HERE.

Sounds like the Poltergeist movie huh? Yes it is here. Run home after work and read it cover to cover. I think it's great it talks about the employee health plan but nothing about the fact the L&N switchover was a catastrophe. Also nothing about the fact that some units aren't paying the right condo fees.

Oh and to add to that...my power went out again yesterday.

I don't think I would characterize the L&N transition as a catastrophe. That's a little extreme. Its only been a couple of months.

I’ve been meaning to ask this question for some time. Why is there a logo from an issue-advocacy group in the corner of the Village Crier Newsletter?

Don’t get me wrong; I don’t care if Board members are supporters of the Gay, Lesbian, and Transgendered Task force, the KKK, the Cato Institute, the Home Schooler’s Association, the Lutheran’s, or the CPUSA.

My interest with the Arlington Village Board is only how Arlington Village is run. Why the issue advocacy?

Will other groups be permitted to put their logo on the newsletter in the future?

Ummmm, regarding the question about the logo on the Crier...the National Wildlife Federation logo is there because we are proud that our wooded ravine was named a certified wildlife
habitat by the National Wildlife Federation in 2007. That designation from the NWF is something all AV owners can be proud of; the AV Board is NOT advocating anything.

Oh. Well then. So long as someone is proud...

In my experience, there was no L&N catastrophe. It was really easy to do the electronic debit switchover, and it's been successfully withdrawn from my account both in January and February.

I agree that the switch to a new management company went pretty well. I got my paperwork in and my condo fee was debited for January and February for the correct amount. I think the board reacted responsibly by waiving late fees during the transition for any problems resulting in the delay of the coupon books.

Completely agree. The transition was a good one. I just hope AV gets a better website. The official site is just awful.

I'm glad yours went well. It took forever for them to take out my payment and even longer for them to let me know if they would actually be taking out my direct deposit. Plus they said we'd get coupon books in December, another lie. The Board would have had a revolution if they didn't waive the fees. Let them eat cake.

Another lie? You must harbor some ill feelings against the condo board. Why not move if its so terrible?

To the anonymous directly above:

1) Don't post.
2) If you MUST post, don't ask stupid questions and don't draw your own conclusions about others' posts.
3) If you can't follow 1 & 2, get a copy of Strunk and White.

Sheesh.

"Why not move if it is so terrible?"

As asked above, have you looked around lately? If you sold now you'd be taking a loss. Don't call people liars. I know a lot of people that think the switch went poorly. It obviously went well for some people that sit by their mailboxes every day waiting for announcements from Arlington Village or for those same people that AV staff actually call back and respond to.

This 'Sad Sack' is being a bit dramatic, but he's got some valid points. The L&N transition was NOT easy, and while it was not difficult, it was annoying with all the time, paper and wasted effort used to get a simple address and transition correctly documented.

As well, the AV office are nice people, but their communication skills are poor at best. If someone e-mails you, how hard is it to hit Reply and say, "We will look into it". They don't realize that even though they resolve the issue it usually takes them days to do, all the while your wondering if anyone even has seen your question/request.
