Board Member Resignation?

That's what the Arlington Village grapevine is saying! Now with the opening on the Board...how will it be filled? Will the Board ask for volunteers or just fill the spot with one of their many minions? Hopefully they will choose the democratic approach.

Any volunteers? What's your campaign slogan?

Which board member is out?

What I find humorous is that one of the newly elected board members promised to re-write the website as part of the communications committee.

They gave up rather quickly from I heard and yet they are now on the board... political promises have hit AV.

Michael Mandel is leaving the Board. I thought he was one of the good ones too. It's a shame.

Michael was one of the good guys.
If he reads the blog, maybe he'll give us an insiders view.

Why wouldn't the position go to the person who garnered the next most number of votes in the last election?

The Board has to choose a replacement. I would assume that the Board has reached out to the other 2 candidates, but I don't put that much faith in the system. Would be too logical a process.

I don't see how you can get a 'good' Board without some type of compensation? The only people who apply for the 'Board' are those that want to push their dopey agenda. It's great that we have people that offer to be on the Board and in the Committees for free, but this is the reason we have such slow progress. These Committees only meet once a month. If you have to go to Covenants, for example, to get something done about the idiots that let their dogs run loose, it takes a month before they can even put together their warning letter! I've been told that these meetings can go one for 4+ hours! Why would anyone do this for free!? If more neighbors would start respecting the rules, and respect your neighbor, these committees wouldn't be so bogged down.

Oh, and what happened to the Parking Committee? I'm sure that was a waste too with 'Agenda pushing'. My brilliant and simple suggestions I'm sure were ignored.

Now this is a subject worth pursuing...

I'm sure most people don't sign on because they just don't have the time.
