Official E-Blast from Board President

To: Arlington Village Residents
From: Greg Mesack, President, Arlington Village
Date: October 1, 2009
Re: General Manager

On Tuesday night, the Arlington Village Board of Directors made the difficult decision to make a change in the General Manager position, effective immediately. It was an incredibly difficult decision and one our Board did not take lightly. The Board appreciates the service that Carmen Beaty has given to the Association over the years, but the Board believes that making this change is in the best interests of the Association at this time.

The role of General Manager has been assumed by the Board of Directors and our management company L&N, until a replacement can be found. I let the staff know Wednesday morning and are working with our Management company to temporarily fill the gap. The search for a new General Manager will commence immediately. While I am certain there will be some bumps in the road, we will get through this transition period. The office will continue to be staffed and email will be answered. If you find that you have a problem getting the results you need from our office, please don't hesitate to email me at: avcondopresident@aol.com.

Good note by the President.

I haven't heard any "facts" leaked. And for crying out loud, they're not a jury sequestered on a murder case. More transparency, please.

I also think Greg's message is a good one, and an important presence on this blog. I trust him when he says the board did not make this decision easily, or rashly, and that they made it in the best interests of Village residents.

Livid? He should be outraged that he has members that think nothing about discussing private matters with certain residents. How many other private matters are discussed openly with their friends? Disgusting. And they should resign.

I personally feel this is a wonderful board made up of good, fair people that unfortunately were put in a position where a very difficult decision needed to be made. I trust their decision and will abide by it and I thank Greg for his message.

As I noted before, I think too many are jumping to conclusions. They can't just put in a newsletter why someone was let go. There is a process for it all, and I look forward to hearing the reason(s). Personally I liked Carmen (and I think everyone did), but if there was a reason for the change then no one should have a problem with it. If you do, then maybe you should run for the board and attend meetings...or if you are like me, I can't wait to move out of this BS 'community'. Attend the meetings and if you are going to criticize, try to have a point of merit...the comments about it being 'not nice' when someone gets fired need to wake up to reality. Firings are rarely 'personal'...so let's hope the Board has the proper explanation.

Like with all personnel issues in the workplace, the board of directors has an obligation to not air them out to the community in these types of forums. It would be inappropriate and it does not help the person who was let go. I am sure the board made a good decision. I hope that they to stick with it.

If breaking the law is doing a great job, then I must agree with you.

Moderator - can you start a new post that can provide some details of what was discussed at last night's meeting?

Wasn't able to attend and would like to know if the "concerned residents" showed their faces, whether the haters of JK complained some more, and whether or not we found out who shot Kennedy?
