Halloween Around the Corner

Since the holiday is just coming down the bend, was wondering if in year's past...are there a lot of trick-or-treaters in the neighborhood?

Also, I know that the security committee does a contest for Christmas Lights but what about doing one for Halloween decorations as well? It seems like the kids in the neighborhood would benefit from having all the front porch lights on for Halloween.

I've been here 7 years and have NEVER seen a "trick or treater."

I had a few last year.

Really? I didn't think this neighborhood had any kids, only toddlers. And, then those families move on when they recognize their units are too small for families.

I usually get a few kids from the other neighborhoods.

I have a couple of kids that have stopped by. Not a huge crowd but nice to see.

I usually turn my lights off and close the blinds...

TRICK OR TREAT!!!

I've been in the village for 3 years now (16th street) and average about 40 kids per halloween.

Most families tend to be scared off by the creepy old people who look like they kidnap kids though.

I recommend Put a pumpkin out and maybe even a skeleton cut-out in your window. Also keep the light on outside so it actually looks like you want visitors.

I think you should have a Halloween Party this year!!!

I have had tick or treaters. Unfortunately, our porch light does not work (damn old thing), so we don't have a light on. Same problem last year, and so we didn't have any treaters.

If your porch light doesn't work, call the office and have it fixed or replaced.

I know in some neighborhoods they have all the kids come to a courtyard or a specific location and everyone brings their candy there to hand out. It's like a community block party where the kids go table to table getting their trick or treat.

It's not about changing the light bulb - it is the power to the outlet, the timer, the wiring, etc. It's an old building; so things don't always work. We have had professionals look at it; no luck.

Isn't the Board talking about replacing all the outside lights?
