Board Mtg. Last Night and Blog Haters!

So...was anyone there at the meeting last night...anything happen?

I heard from a little bird that heard through a friend of a little bird that some board members don't think our little blog is valid since not everyone posts a name. They don't believe anonymous posters. They question if the blogger isn't the anon poster and just making up random stories.

I wish I could sit here thinking up random story lines and blogging all day. If that was the case I would just become a writer. Alas, I think the board fears that there are actually people with opinions and they voice them.

On a side note...someone posted that the cops were called this weekend on a party. Where was that unit at? Those people sound like fun...perhaps they'd invite me over for their next bender? :) I guess they didn't read the previous posts on being neighborly?

Sorry to burst your bubble, AV blogger, but no such conversation about your blog took place. There was one mention made, by Ryan Walker, about a blog, and the comment he made was that he "knew that the Board didn't like 'the blog,'" and was said in the context of publishing meeting minutes more quickly. No one else there said anything--not one word--about any blog. FWIW, the board is not a monolith; we are individuals/fellow AV residents with better things to do than fret about a fellow resident's misbegotten blog. Knock yourself out. And find a more reliable source for what is said at board meetings, for heaven's sake! Your current informant is creating a tempest in a teapot!

I second that!! And I'm NOT a board member.

It WAS said but not at the Board Meeting night. Sorry if that was the impression since I combined the 2 topics.

Thanks for giving some insight to what happened though last night. Perhaps you could also share any real work that occurred last evening as well? The blog readers would much appreciate it.

Hmmm...

The lady doth protest too much, methinks.

Whether the board thinks of itself as a "monolith" or not seems quite immaterial. And I think most people are aware that not all Board members are residents of Arlington Village.

They may consider themselves individuals, although it can be difficult to tell when their actions appear to be more inline with the "group-think" mentality of the ERC; and they may have better things to do than monitor who may be planting or painting doors or decks in violation of A.V. Association rules. But I don't think it's fair to label this blog "misbegotten" - implying it is badly conceived, contemptible, or even illegitimate.

Clearly you don't like the blog, but I have found it informative and entertaining. Perhaps if the Board made more of an effort to keep the residents informed there would be no need for those you describe as "informants."

And the delicious irony did not escape me in "lily" having mentioned what "Ryan" said to clear up the "informant's" information at the Board meeting.

I actually AM interested in what goes on in Arlington Village. I'm interested in peoples' opinions as well as their gripes. I have no interest in the Board beyond their fiduciary responsibilities, but I would like to think that they, too, are interested in the opinions of residents - anonymous or not.

That was a big bore.... excuse me while I take a nap....

The Board should indeed have better things to do than monitor the grounds for violations of AV rules and that is why we, Village owners, employ staff that should be monitoring for violations because just like crumbling sidewalks, rule violations can negatively impact the value of our units.

For all you Greenies...I declare an emergency earth hour tonight on behlaf of ERC. Turn off your TVs tonight between the hours of 8-9pm. The world will be a better place. Hey, maybe go plant a tree in the ravine!

Thnak you.

William said...

To William, Did you see the new green door on Barton Street? I am thinking of orange.

Cupcake saw the green door. It's quite a green too. Looks like someone had paint left over from their barn.

More importantly. Does Marilyn Chambers live there. Give me a click.
