This blog is dedicated to expressing Arlington Village residents' feelings about our community. It is a blog for the people and by the people. Please give updates on your committee meetings, problems with the community, security issues and of course the great reasons to live in "the village".

3:15 pm and my steps have just been cleared of ice.
This is my first winter in AV. Is this normal, or should they have done this early this morning?
In the past they have always been done early in the morning. I'm not sure what happened today.
Well, there, Katie...
By long standing tradition, A.V. residents generally contact the A.V. office and demand that they be the first to have their steps cleared of ice and snow. It should have been in your "Welcome, Katie, to Arlington Village" packet.
You apparently didn't do that, and your steps were just cleared at, oh, about 3:15.
Call A.V. now. Complain about your status, and demand that you be the first among us to get attention you deserve for the next time.
And welcome!
Darn, no, I missed that in my welcome packet.
Oh. Maybe it's in the pool pass request form, AV382pool2008-9, section 432B.
I can't remember so good.
Katie, sorry that your steps weren't cleared and that you were subjected to some snarky neighbor. I think the blogger is correct in saying that usually Arlington Village does a better job than what happened today.
Actually, I thought the Village did a pretty good job. My walks were all cleared quickly as so was my parking area.
That's probably a Board Member. I'd clean up their area first too since they give out the bonuses.
I heard from the office that there is a problem with some of the condo fees. Not everyone was paying the correct amount to Armstrong.
Then why didn't they send out an AVBlast AND deal directly with the people not paying the right amount? Silly stuff...Chinese whispers.
I did get a blast eamil concerning something like this. Here is the cut and paste.
Bob, during the transition to our new financiual management co. Legum & Norman, L&N's accounting department discovered 27 discreptancies in the interest percentages assigned to each unit.
questions we need to ask him, including but not limited to:
1) We are using "Exhibit A" in looking at ownership/condo fee percentages. Our bylaws cite "Exhibit C". Is it ok to use A?
2) Where is "Exhibit C?"
3) For those owners we have been charging the wrong rate for so long, what obligations do we owe them?
It would be good for either Jenny or I to be on the phone when you talk to him. I will be traveling, but will be available from 11:20 to 12:10. Check with Jenny to see when she is free. I don't have to be on the call, so if times line up when she and Bob are available do it then make the call. It would be good to talk to Bob today so that we can have some certainty on this issue since coupon books have arrived
No running commentary about the last meeting this time?
