Show of hands...

Who uses the bike room? Do you find it crowded? Is your bike safe in there?

It's crowded and my bike was stolen from there.

Are there any spots for new bikes to be added? No, not at all. I keep my bike somewhere else. After you are in the room for more than a couple minutes the mold will choke you. We need to get rid of a laundry room and add another bike room or enlarge storage spaces.

I used it for about a week, but it was overcrowded and not very convenient since I live on the north end of A.V.

It is way to crowded. I appreciate having a bike room to assist residents with storage, but I think we need an additional space to accomadate the current demand. The last time there was a clean up. we saw the removal of the baby strollers. Some of those were quite large. That helped, but now we are maxed out. With Fall coming we will see the available area pushed to its limits.

"not very convenient since I live on the north end of A.V..... well, excuse me!!! Too lazy to walk to the bike room? I'd suggest selling your bike; maybe too much exercise for you.

The problem with the bike room is that it's filled with abandoned bikes! AV should send out a notice to register your bike OR it will be donate to GoodWill. Period.

The BIKE ROOM has been a sore thumb in Arlington Village for a long time and would be a big improvement it was remedied so it could be used.

At one time bikes had to be registered with the AV, but for whatever reason that process ended.

Notices to all village residence should go out as soon as possible that their bikes risk being donated unless they act to register/put a an AV sticker on it. We need to as sooner than later because we have to give people plenty of time to avoid someone later claiming damages against AV for mistaking their bike as abandoned when it was not.

I was asked to register my bike to get a key and sticker when I moved in in May. I was shocked at how crowded the room was. I can't believe there aren't any other basements available in other parts of the complex that can't be developed in to more bike rooms. Obviously there is a demand. And I sympathize with those who live on 16th Street or near Columbia Pike, what an inconvenience.

It is very crowded, and I believe we could well use another bike storage area in the village. I think I would use my bike more if it wasn't such a hassle getting it out of that crowded space.

I've stored my bike there on and off for four years and yes, it's crowded, but I've never had a feeling that it wasn't safe. As long as the bikes are registered and locked up it shouldn't be a problem. For what it's worth, I keep my bike in my house in the summer when I use it, but walk it over to the storage unit in the winter. So far, maybe I've been lucky, but I've had a pretty good experience.

I guess the only suggestion is to do the annual bike purge of any unregistered bikes.
