L&N Letter to Homeowners - Did You Receive?

Did everyone receive the letter from L&N regarding the transition from Armstrong? The letter states that if haven't received your coupon books to call 703-600-6000 or our Community Manager - Andy. Andy's number is 703-848-4324.

It also indicates that any late fees from January were waived by the board. Good thing! With all the confusion that certainly was the right decision.

No Power?

As the resident from yesterday said on another blog post...what's up with Arlington Village losing power 2 nights in a row? Even a woman at the grocery store asked the clerk if their power went out! So it might not just be an AV thing...it could be an area outage. Hmmm....anyone heard anything?

Police Out and About for Superbowl Sunday

From the Arlington County Police Department:

The Arlington County Police Department is adding extra patrols to discourage drunk driving on Super Bowl Sunday. Additional officers will patrol the streets, in commercial and residential neighborhoods, looking for motorists operating their vehicles under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Super Bowl Sunday is one of the most popular and entertaining national sporting events as friends and families gather to socialize and watch the big game. Yet, it is also one of the nation’s most dangerous days on the roadways due to impaired driving.

If you are hosting a Super Bowl party:

• Remember, you can be held liable and prosecuted if someone you served ends up in an impaired driving crash.
• Make sure all of your guests designate their sober drivers in advance, or help arrange ride-sharing with other sober drivers.
• Serve lots of food and include lots of non-alcoholic beverages at the party.
• Stop serving alcohol at the end of the third quarter of the game and begin serving coffee and dessert.
• Keep the numbers for local cab companies handy, and take the keys away from anyone who is thinking of driving while impaired.

If you are attending a Super Bowl party or watching at a sports bar or restaurant:

• Avoid drinking too much alcohol too fast. Pace yourself - eat enough food, take breaks and alternate with non-alcoholic drinks.
• Designate your sober driver before the party begins and give that person your car keys.
• If you don’t have a designated driver, ask a sober friend for a ride home; call a cab, friend or family member to come and get you; or just stay where you are and sleep it off until you are sober.
• Never let a friend leave your sight if you think they are about to drive while impaired.
• Always buckle up – it’s still your best defense against other impaired drivers.

Please act responsibly.

Condo Fee Mix Up! Are you paying the right amount?

When I asked for notes from the Board Meeting yesterday someone posted saying that the Condo Fees that some residents have been paying were incorrect. Then I got this post this afternoon from concerned22204:

"I did get a blast eamil concerning something like this. Here is the cut and paste.

Bob, during the transition to our new financiual management co. Legum & Norman, L&N's accounting department discovered 27 discreptancies in the interest percentages assigned to each unit.

questions we need to ask him, including but not limited to:

1) We are using "Exhibit A" in looking at ownership/condo fee percentages. Our bylaws cite "Exhibit C". Is it ok to use A?

2) Where is "Exhibit C?"

3) For those owners we have been charging the wrong rate for so long, what obligations do we owe them?

It would be good for either Jenny or I to be on the phone when you talk to him. I will be traveling, but will be available from 11:20 to 12:10. Check with Jenny to see when she is free. I don't have to be on the call, so if times line up when she and Bob are available do it then make the call. It would be good to talk to Bob today so that we can have some certainty on this issue since coupon books have arrived."

Did everyone get this blast email? Or has anyone heard whether or not they are paying the right/wrong amount? Is the Village going to put something in the Crier? How many years have people been paying incorrectly?
